Urb. Montebello (on the Costa Blanca) was first developed in 1999, and has 177 properties where, today, the split is about 52% holiday houses and 48% permanent residents.Sixteen  nationalities are currently represented amongst the owners.
They have a fascinating range of past and present careers.From military / government  personnel ex UK and beyond to those with  a variety of commercial  backgrounds on a local and international basis.

We have a picturesque and  tranquil setting with open land and orange groves on  three sides.
 
The easily accessible  AP7 highway leads north to Alicante and south to Cartegena.

Cuidad Quesada  is 2 kms away with  a fast developing retail centre.Lidl is a relativity new  addition as is another supermarket MasyMas  with  Aldi and Consum in  close proximity.A nearby Tesco has just opened and a' Burger King' -close to Lidl-is in the process of construction.

Within a 6 km radius we are thus  fortunate to have a full  range of restaurants, supermarkets, commercial outlets of all types, medical facilities, primary/secondary schools and  golf courses.
There is  a very large and popular Sunday morning market- ZOCO- within walking distance. It offers most  items from  to A to Z.
En route to the market is a service station with an excellent  convenience store.
Some 2 km further on we have a superbly created , scenic 'golf village'complete with mini golf,  pitch and putt,  a driving range and an excellent restaurant .
Torrevieja is 12 kms away.

The Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) of Algorfa has responsibility for the Urbanizations within the catchment area. Regular communication is maintained with the respective officials and service providers concerning our well being.
We have a daily uplift of household rubbish and on site facilities for the contracted removal of garden debris and unwanted furniture.
The positive assistance of the Ayuntamiento together with the input of committee  members and volunteers over the years has resulted in a leisure area which has-
A professionally maintained  large communal swimming pool -open all year round  for those so inclined- plus new toilets and changing rooms . 
A children's playground ,  a small scale soccer pitch, petanca rinks, two basketball nets and golf driving nets.
A 34 mt carpeted bowling green which also serves as a mini golf facility (with both removable obstacles and nine spring loaded 'saucer' holes) and a barbecue area complete with bar.

  A  very popular uni-sex hairdressing salon,STUDIO SIX , is situated on Av Romero.

The Renfe building,now  known as 'THE OLD STATION 'opened on April Ist.
A large crowd took advantage to celebrate this welcome event  and enjoy the  'freebies ' on offer
The newly designed interior, a wide range of beverages along with a choice of local /other cuisine and the proposed arts and crafts, and  Spanish lessons  will combine to provide an attractive meeting place.
In normal conditions  opening hrs would be 1000  hrs to 2200 hrs.
Covid regs at the moment  require closure at 1800  hrs.

(AS OF MARCH 2020 SILVERSTONES WAS CLOSED -AND IS  FOR SALE).

Many residents enjoy club membership at bowling and golf clubs - this latter normally in the form of Society golf. Several  often return home with trophies  from  their respective Societies who endeavour to play on a wide variety of courses throughout the year.
Cycling has become a popular hobby.80 kms in a session is no problem for some!...
Artists in turn develop their particular canvas.
One holiday home owner seems to spend his entire R and R running around the Urb.

Administration -
NBA in Torrevieja act as our Administrators and deal with all financial and legal matters.(They also offer many services to the public including conveyancing, non resident and  resident  tax  consultancy and submissions, NIE 's, Wills and Inheritance advice etc).

As the law requires and as transparency demands we have  a   committee with a President, Vice -President and, ideally, six other members..
We normally have our AGM in November. Absentee owners can vote by proxy via an owner who attends the meeting.
Debtors have no right to vote.
